i choose the first. but the "beat" thing is not what i support. but the "cuba system" is defenitely an unholy, unsucessful system. (It doesn't mean the "US" system is better). most of the population in cuba live in horrible circumstances. prostitution and low income jobs. the politc in cuba cannot solve all those problems. actually they even don't try to solve them.
castro is a "diktator", it is so. he only protect himself. too sad, but it is so.

It is a strange phenomenom that you find the Dollar in Cuba.
Tourists come from everywhere - they do not help the country but help to destroy society.

I took the last possibility!

@ jausa: The American embargo against Cuba is one of the most importan aspects, why the people must live in misery! It has damaged their economy for a half century.

In a conversation with a guy from the UN he told us that it is a phenomenon that live expectancy is pretty high in Cuba though Cuba is that poor as a result of the embargo. Another interesting aspect: doctors are distributed equally in every region.
And of course cities are safer than in the US: nobody warned us from walking around alone...
Can the US really present us a better system?

I wouldn't say it's working, but the american embargo ist a sham. As well as the one against Vietnam. Socialism comes too often with a loss of freedom. Especially when there is no way for a change in political environment.

If the U.S. are going to fight Terrorism, are they going to nuke themselves?

William Blum said something like that in November 1998:

If the US can bomb the headquarters of bin Laden, why couldn't Cuba do the same with the headquarters of the CIA, which managed the hundreds of terror acts against Cuba? - With the same reasoning - the self-defense? (shortened and rendered)

We got a wrong logic happening on our globe. War is terror.

Cuba... well... it's difficult.

I would have voted for the second point, but I voted for the last then.
The key point is that this system is no real socialism. We didn't ever have a socialistic system in history.
"What about USSR, China, DGR or North Korea", you may ask. I for one believe that they aren't really socialistic systems. I think they were/are fascistic systems that only call themselves socialistic (as the US is a facistic system that calls himself capitalistic-democratic), but none of these states was/is a state that would be termed "socialistic" by Marx if he still was alive.

I think it's good that this small country is still independent from US, but with the new imperialistic tendences, I don't think it can stay independent for long. :(

@Tarvoc

I agree. There is no real socialist system nor has there ever been one. Vietnam comes really close but they all feature totalitarian Aspects, for one person, who believes himself more equal than others can ruin the System. So they try to eliminate them, ignoring the fact, that in doing so, they are the same.
